i had an idea. instead of soloing back and forth, try this…. record track
mutes. that way, you just extend the sequence and have all your tracks
muted except for track 1, then after 8 bars have all tracks muted except
for track 2, and so on. this will save you alot of time waiting for the
sync to lock in at the beginning

Hey man good tutorial, although I got a mpc2kxl here. Hooked to cubase,
what I don’t get is – Do I still sequence all my notes into the mpc or do I
use cubase now for that? I also have a synth midi’d to my mpc A port, got B
port to my m-audio 192. I’m trying to sequence VSTi sounds into my mpc for
a mixdown but it’s like all channels on the mpc are registering as one midi
channel?(huh)? Global mode i suspect well thanks alot man

i link my mpc to my korg triton via midi, but you should try addind all
kinds of vsti’s and vst effects to your tracks , and,? can you send more
than stereo audio to your computer??
@mesaoneCCK but also, I have 8 ins, so I can do 8 tracks at once, don’t
really need to do it this way for me.
if u used the midi time code u should be able to get ur stuff to synth
right away
i have a question is there a way to use the sequencer in cubase to control
the mpc with midi??

slice option wat do i need…

as long as you have the akai os 1.7 or higher or jjos, it should work
when i press on the mode button and the trim, i see not the slice tool, i
see only trim loop and edit, can anybody help me?
no you dont…u need JJOS in order to chop easier and faster…i found it
for free, but u need to buy a password otherwise you cant save
sequences…but all MPCs have stock slice features
that aint F6. that’s F5! but yea, im sure im not the first to say that.

My mpc doesnt have a slice function, there is only the ‘edit’ on the f6 but
nothing on the f5 button. Does my mpc just an outdated OS???

yo chris, did you ever find out what was wrong when the slice option didnt
show up on your mpc 1000?

if you are working with the rex-loop-player in reason you can use
recycle…but a lot of programs have a sclicer
after I slice on my mpc1000 I don’t get a “convrt” option. Can U help?
On sampling on the 1000, after you have already recored sample and you are
trying to edit or chop sample, why is that when I go into trim mode, I
don’t get the slice option? I only get the ( Trim; Loop; & Edit) options.
What I’m I missing? Is a particular step to get the Slice option?
I can not imagine how one can use the mpc 1000 WITHOUT JJ. That is an
unbelievable absurd.
y do u create a new program? (for samples) and y would u create new

AFTER I RECORD AND GO BACK TO THE MAIN SCREEN, I HIT MODE AND PAd6/Trim,
but all I see is trim on F1, loop on F2 and edit on F6. WHY IZ THAT?
this section thing is retared, just assign the sample to each pad and cut
it , thats way more useful.
go to the akai site.. and they have a download and instructions on how to
upgrade its also free, i just did it for my akai!
