I know how to open MPC 2500 files in MPC Studio.
By importing the “song” onto the computer via USB. Once it’s on the
computer you go into the Ren and at the left pane (browser) you look for
the 5000 folder with the “song”/ sequence/ tracks you would like to load
in.
Drag and drop that folder onto a pad or right pane (browser) automatically
loads the banks/ pads. After that it’s just simply pushing the transport
button to make it playback.
This process works just as it would do with any other folder, loading in a
program.
Vice versa is possible too, creating programs on the Ren then exporting
them to the 5000.
check my page for new Beat Making video w/ MPC 2000! Chopping it up with
SKILLS – Making a beat using MPC 2000
it CAN load other mpc programs actually
save your project s from you mpc to your computer, then open mpc software
click on 1 of the 5 folders, click on project, find the folder you saved
your mpc project in-double click that bitch and bow son- beats from your
analog mpc into your daw mpc
I know you’re not a fan of Maschine, but the one thing they did do better
was the time stretch. Also the vst handling. I have the renaissance, but
until they fix some of the issues they have I’m not got rack my brain to
use it. In fact I might buy another 2500. I love that machine.
it can’t load mpc 1000 mpc 2000 and mpc 5000 sequences and programs. It
should do this but it doesn’t. I’ve tried several times.
good info thanks K..
Is it possible to plug in a bass guitar and sample live playing while the
mpc ren is playing a beat?
Possibly because of the current firmware… Which means they may implement
it within the following updates.
yeah. Well that needs to be implemented on the nest update.
MPC 5000 or whatever and the Renaissance are two different things. Its more
about the software not having any load option. I had problems loading
renamed project files of the ren itself. Also of course the problems with
the MPC5000 files not being loadable. Is there any solutions by now?
hey, in your opinion would u say that maschine is a better buy than the
renaissance , last drum machine i used was the 2500 i want to get back to
my music but im at a toss up between the two. also can u still use
keyboards like a triton with the mpc when u save a file or can u play it
without the mpc being hooked up.
I have a scientific theory of why it crash and i do have a windows os. I
thought it was memory issues. I figured that while an action is happening
and that lil circle is spinning, attempting to do another action while that
previous action hasn’t finished is grounds for crashing.
Maschine is more stable and NI’s support is great.
Akai got a lot of work to do
Well – the new update still has the same problem…
Yo dj kay I know you not a fan of windows computer but I use windows7 with
the renaissance and I only had that crash problem 3 times so far with
loading my plung ins the crash came from me trying to scan to many of them
at one time so I started to load and scan them little at a time like 10
here 15 their and I had one bad vst that was stoping me from loading the
rest once I deleted that bad vst my renaissance has Ben running smooth.
It sounds like I should get a mpc 5000 my freand had one for 2 year’s and
never had a problem whith it what do you thank the mpc ren or the mpc 5000
I have made some tracks on my MPC Ren using vst’s and cant get the files to
open back up when I go back to them. Have you had that problem yet? Im also
running Mac os.
The mpc renaissance can in fact load akai’s legacy files,2000xl 4000 5000
etc… The thing is all past mpc’s read different projectfile types. you
have to load individual pgms and seqmidi files. not just APS or ALL. at
this stage there some workarounds that have to be done. check out mpctutor
and my man hillprop97 on you tube as they have done this already peace.

Funny thing you just uploaded this… Just checked your page like 10 mins
ago to see if anything was new up on here which there wasn’t nothing…
Good to see you still doing these. But as far as i know and read up, is
that the MPC Renn can import the projects and sequences onto the Renn
according to Akai…
